Present Time—a radio program on WBTV-LP 99.3 in Burlington, Vermont and a blog—explores public affairs, culture, and the importance of sharing our individual and collective stories.

Present Time was created by Katherine Bielawa Stamper.  As a First Generation American, a singular thread in Katherine’s career has been advocacy.  She attributes this to her working-class roots and gratitude to those who helped her find her way educationally and professionally.  She’s worked in civil rights, legislative affairs, consumer advocacy, prison education, college teaching, grant writing, journalism and radio.

Katherine is a recipient of a 2015 Vermont Press Association award for Best Newspaper Column (non-daily) for Little Details, the column she created for the Williston (VT) Observer.  She was a 2022-2023 Fellow in the Engaging Eurasia Teaching Fellowship at the Davis Center at Harvard University.  She lives in Vermont on beautiful Lake Champlain, overlooking the Adirondack Mountains.
